Felipe Nasr reckons mistakes will decide GP2 title fight
Felipe Nasr believes that mistakes will determine the destination of this year's GP2 crown, given how little separates the championship leaders heading into the final three rounds
Nasr has closed to within five points of Stefano Coletti at the head of the standings, with the Monegasque driver failing to score in any of the last five races.
Fabio Leimer and Sam Bird meanwhile are both within 14 points of the championship lead, while newly-appointed Force India Formula 1 reserve driver James Calado is just 10 points further adrift.
Nasr, who has scored five podiums but is yet to win in 2013, said he would not change his approach despite the prospect of winning this year's title.
"If I can see the opportunity for the win, I will take it - that's been the same approach all season," said Nasr.
"However you obviously have to be intelligent about the moves you're making because that can ruin your race and take away points.
"It's easy to risk the points so you have to be careful.
"I think from now on the person to make the fewest mistakes will be the person to win at the end of the year."
Asked what it would take to overhaul Coletti, Nasr said: "More of the same - scoring points and fighting for the win.
"I'm happy with how the season has gone [and] my mentality remains the same.
"We've had some great results this year and there are still three more races to go with plenty more to come."
