Wurz agrees not to comment on future

The Austrian's current contract with Williams runs out at the end of the year and the team are currently evaluating whether or not to retain him alongside Nico Rosberg.

But speaking to autosport.com, Wurz said he had an idea what Williams wanted to do with him next season - but said that he and the team had agreed not to talk about the matter.

"Next year is 2008, that's as much as I can say," explained Wurz. "I know a little bit more, but Frank and myself are sticking to an agreement that we don't speak or even hint anything to anyone outside us two. No one else is involved in our situation."

Wurz's racecraft has impressed this season, and he netted a podium finish in Canada. But even though he remains one point ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg in the points standings, he admits he is frustrated that he has not been as quick as the German in qualifying.

"You have to look at it from two sides," he said when asked to review his season so far. "If you step back and look at it, I'm ninth in the drivers' championship, ahead of my teammate. So that's all good.

"But if I look closer at my own performance, then I'm not happy because I think... you know, it's not miles off, but ideally I want to be able to attack a little bit more in qualifying. It took me quite some time to get to handle the new tyres, a point that annoys me."

He added: "I'm very open about it, I've got nothing to hide, because I can still bring the races home. But when everything is so close and you just miss it by one tenth once in a while, it's annoying.

"On the other hand, Nico is my teammate - and he is for me at the moment the strongest qualifier in the entire paddock. He is very impressive. He just doesn't make mistakes. You know, every qualifying he nails it. And it's very impressive.

"So the level for me to compare to is very high. But I enjoy it. I'm not hiding, you know."
