Williams in Action at Silverstone

Mark Webber and Antonio Pizzonia began Williams' preparations for the Spanish Grand Prix, working at the Silverstone circuit

The team's progress, however, was hampered by rain showers pouring down throughout the day. Both drivers focussed on set-ups, the Australian completing 69 laps, setting a best time of 1:23.901.

Pizzonia, meanwhile, completed 42 laps on his way to posting a best time of 1:24.903.

"The predicted wet weather front arrived slightly earlier than we thought it would this morning but we still managed to get a few hours of dry running," said Tim Newton, test team manager. "This afternoon's session, however, was severely hampered by heavy rain showers.

"During the time we had on track, Mark and Antonio concentrated on wet tyre testing, set-up work and systems checks. The front seems to be moving fairly quickly so we will hopefully be able to get a dry days' running tomorrow."

Both drivers will be joined tomorrow by Nico Rosberg, who is now an official test driver for the team.
