Webber hopes for turn in fortunes
Mark Webber is hoping the Monaco Grand Prix proves to be a turn in fortunes for his Williams team following a tough start to the season
Although the Cosworth-powered squad have shown glimpses of competitiveness, their results have been far from impressive.
Williams have scored just ten points in six races and both Webber and teammate Nico Rosberg finished a lap down at the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Australian is now hopeful the Monte Carlo race, where the team scored their best result of the season last year, will kick start their campaign.
"We had a good result there last year and I hope we can improve on the previous race in Barcelona by quite some margin and get some solid points for the team," said Webber, third at Monaco last year.
"I love the challenge of Monte Carlo and, as a sporting event, the atmosphere is absolutely amazing.
"I really hope it will prove to be a turn in fortunes, and form, for the team. It can't come soon enough after the last race and I'm just looking forward to getting there."
Rosberg is always looking forward to the Monaco Grand Prix, and the German is in optimistic mood for the weekend.
"Monaco will be a special weekend for me. Racing in the town where I have lived all my life, and with all my friends supporting me on such a fascinating circuit, will be great," he said.
"I had a great race here in GP2 when I finished third and, although the track will be quite different in a Formula One car, I'm going into the weekend with a strong belief that we can do well."
