Vettel out after crash with Webber

Red Bull Racing threw away victory in the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday when team-mates Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel collided when battling for the lead

The pair had been leading comfortably following the first round of pit stops, but on lap 40 Vettel tried a move past the leading car of Webber on the long run down to Turn 12.

Vettel was dragging past Webber on the left hand side when he appeared to move across slightly on the Australian - with the German's right rear tyre tagging with Webber's left front.

Vettel spun across the front of Webber, suffering bad damage to his right rear tyre, and the pair both ran off the track at Turn 12 - with Vettel waving his hand at Webber's car as he went past him.

The accident forced Vettel out on the spot, while Webber was able to continue before coming into the pits on lap 42 for a new nose.

The clash of team-mates, which left team principal Christian Horner and technical director Adrian Newey holding their heads in the hands on the pit wall, handed the lead to McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
