Verstappen gutted about losing seat
Dumped Arrows driver Jos Verstappen says he is "very disappointed" with the news that Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been named as his replacement by Arrows for 2002
The Dutchman, who claims he has already signed a contract to drive for the team this year, says he learned the news from his manager, who saw it on Arrows' website this morning (Thursday).
"I have still not heard anything official from the team, I heard it from Huub Rothengatter who pointed me to the information," said Verstappen. "Of course, I am very disappointed. I do not wish to give further comment on this because I want to get used to it first."
His manager Rothengatter said: "Despite all the rumours over the last few weeks I am completely astonished. Officially we do not know anything, and I was very unpleasantly surprised by the press release. I've been in Formula 1 for more than 20 years, but have never experienced anything like this. It means we are going to have a very busy time ahead us - to be continued."
