Trulli all set to repeat Friday showing
Jarno Trulli has says he wants a 'Saturday' pole position at Suzuka's final race of the year. Trulli has been provisionally fastest twice already this year (including the last race at Indianapolis) only to lose out on the Saturday
"Having taken three Friday poles this year, I would like to get one on Saturday as well, before the end of the season.
"I managed to get a clean mistake-free lap and now I have to repeat that performance tomorrow. If we manage that we will be in a very strong position for the race.
Engineering Executive Director Pat Symonds stressed that the Renault pace is good for race set-up as well: "The balance of the cars is quite good, and we looked quick in all circumstances, including our high fuel runs this morning. Jarno's time justifies the confidence we had coming here, and Fernando was just a little cautious today."
Alonso was sixth and three-tenths down on Trulli even though he was not pushing the limits. At this stage, then, things could hardly look better for Renault.
