Trulli Aiming to Bounce Back at Spa

Renault driver Jarno Trulli is determined to turn his disappointing form around in Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix after failing to score points in the last three races.

Italian Trulli is still the only driver to have beaten Ferrari's Michael Schumacher all season but he has failed to finish on the podium since his victory in Monaco in May.

The slump in form has coincided with Renault's announcement that Trulli will lose his seat to compatriot Giancarlo Fisichella next season.

Trulli's teammate Fernando Alonso, of Spain, has become the stronger of the pair in the second half of the season having finished third in the last two races. But Trulli is determined to fight back.

"My first priority will be to get the car to the finish and add to my championship total," said Trulli, who is widely-tipped to join Toyota next season.

"I am still pushing 100 percent for myself and the team to try and consolidate my position in the championship and also to help Renault to second in the constructors' race. I had an excellent first half of the season but I haven't scored points in the last three races so I want to get my form back for the last five races.

"That would be a good way to round off the season for me."

Schumacher has won 12 of the 13 races this season and is hot favourite for Sunday's Belgium race which is back on the calendar after being dropped last year.

Ferrari have already won the constructors' title but Renault are in second place and are determined to extend their advantage over third-placed BAR-Honda, who closed the gap to eight points at the last race in Hungary.

Renault technical director Bob Bell said: "In recent races, while we have often been Ferrari's nearest challengers, we have not been collecting the points we should.

"We believe we can fight for a podium finish but our aim at Spa will be first and foremost to ensure both drivers score points."
