Toyota confident of keeping momentum

Toyota's tech boss Pascal Vasselon is confident the team have made a step forward that will allow them to enjoy a strong British Grand Prix

Jarno Trulli gave Toyota their first podium finish since 2006 at last week's French Grand Prix, the Italian driver finishing in third place after his best weekend of the season so far.

The Japanese squad also enjoyed a strong test at Silverstone last week, leaving Vasselon upbeat about their chances for the race in Britain.

"Obviously we go to Silverstone in very good spirits after the great result in France," said Vasselon.

"I am confident we have made a genuine step forward and that will be visible at Silverstone as well because the car configuration is very close to Magny-Cours.

"Of course the other teams are working hard to improve as well and we don't know how much progress they have made at the last test but we are back at the top of the midfield again and we want to show that once more this weekend."

Trulli is also optimistic he will be able to keep his momentum going after his first top three finish since 2005.

"After such a fantastic result in France I think we have a very good chance to be competitive again," he said.

"So far this season it has been very tight in the midfield but we are in there fighting and we will push as hard as possible to score more points. We showed what was possible in Magny-Cours so now I am looking forward to another exciting race."
