The Toyota Formula One team completed on Monday another testing session as they prepare for their Grand Prix debut in the 2002 season.
Both Scot Allan McNish and Finn Mika Salo worked at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, where they carried out a three-day session, with McNish working on the first two days and Salo taking over for the final session.
McNish completed a total of 98 laps with a best time of 1:43.07, while Salo's best was 1:42.59 after 56 laps.
"This circuit is very nice and technical," said McNish. "I am quite happy with the times I did particularly as I was testing with used tyres. The test in general was very important for us because the first three races of next year are all fly away and it is essential for the whole team to get some logistics experience before Australia in March."
"I was just continuing the job that Allan was doing on engine and electronic mapping," added Salo. "I have learned new things about the track today that I would not have time to learn in a racing situation next year."
The 2001 pole position time for the Malaysian Grand Prix was 1:35.220, set by World Champion Michael Schumacher back in March.
