Toyota Complete Three-Day Test at Paul Ricard

The Toyota Formula One team completed on Friday a three-day test at the Paul Ricard circuit, where the Japanese squad carried out their preparations for the British Grand Prix.

Test driver Stephane Sarrazin was in action on the first day, working on aerodynamic testing, completing 75 laps with a fastest one of 1:15.75.

"We had a very good test day on Wednesday with a lot of laps achieved," said Sarrazin. "We managed to finish our aerodynamic testing programme. Consistent driving was difficult as the track was dirty and the grip level was low.

"With only one car it takes a long time to clean the track surface, but the car nevertheless felt good to drive."

Scot Allan McNish took over from the Frenchman on Thursday and Friday, posting a quickest time of 1.13.34 after 176 laps around the French circuit. McNish, who suffered a pinched nerve on his shoulder at Sunday's European Grand Prix, said he was fully recovered from the injury.

"My shoulder is now back in perfect working condition after resting well after the European GP," said McNish. "We managed to complete many laps over the two days. We worked on aerodynamics and mechanical items, as well as some suspension and electronics work, which improved the overall handling of the car. It was generally a productive two days with everyone working hard in hot conditions."
