Teams testing at Fiorano and Nogaro

The Ferrari F1 team are not slowing down in their efforts to close the gap with McLaren, despite having beaten the 'Silver Arrows' at Imola.

Michael Schumacher and test driver Luca Badoer have been testing more developments on the F399 at the Fiorano test track, as well as experimenting with different set-ups.

Schumacher was fastest on a 1m02.761s, while Badoer, who is still recovering from a hand injury, was a little over a second slower with his best time of 1m03.859s.

Several teams preferred to go to the tight and twisty Nogaro circuit in France, which has similar characteristics to Monaco, the venue for the next race.

The track has been slowed further with the addition of two chicanes, after concerns about its suitability for F1 cars.

Both Williams' and the Sauber of Pedro Diniz tested there on Thursday without problems. Ralf Schumacher was fastest on 1m18.92s, followed by Diniz on 1m19.24s and Zanardi on 1m19.36s.

BAR and Stewart should also be present for the rest of the test.
