Spyker coy on van der Garde conflict
Spyker team boss Colin Kolles remained coy on their dispute with the Super Aguri team over the services of Dutch driver Giedo van der Garde
"F1 is a quick business. The fact is Guido is with us and there is nothing more to say about it," Kolles told reporters during the launch of Spyker's new car at Silverstone.
Van der Garde was announced last week as a third driver for Spyker, just one day after the Dutchman had driven for the Super Aguri team in Valencia.
Super Aguri had signed Van der Garde as their third driver for 2007 in December and the Japanese squad claim to have a valid contract with him.
"I cannot say anything about this," added Kolles. "The fact is that he is with us, and that is it. We have no fight because we have no contract with Super Aguri. We have no problems."
Van der Garde said he had no doubts about who he will drive for in 2007.
"It is for sure, otherwise I would not be here at the presentation," he said.
"We just came out with some issues and there were some problems (with Super Aguri). So I was very lucky that it was handled very quickly with Spyker because we have some very good contacts here and because it is a Holland [Dutch] team.
"And then they made a deal in the night so I'm very happy with it."
When asked what went wrong with Super Aguri, van der Garde replied: "I don't know. You know it is part of the management they have to deal with it and the only thing is I am very happy I am there and that I drive for an F1 team, for Spyker.
"It is always hard, you know. The only thing that I want is to drive fast and do the best I can and all the contracts and the other things, I am not part of this."
