The Big Cat came up with a unique solution to separate drag and airflow from the rear tyre: these vertical fins.
Jaguar's solution to wing fences was questioned by BAR technical director Geoff Willis, after it questioned his original design on the BAR. In Barcelona, Jaguar used twin 'aerofoil' profiles attached together at either side of the rear wing.
BAR further modified its rear wing fence (orange section shows the one present at Imola). Measurement A has now to be 30 percent of measurement C.
In Bahrain, Williams copied the BAR rear wing fences, which were then ruled illegal from the San Marino Grand Prix. In Barcelona, the team introduced the 'aerofoil' section fence (2), similar to BAR's at Imola. It also ran the axle-mounted extra wing (1) seen briefly at Imola, but now with a smaller chord (old section in yellow).
