Saturday Second Free Practice - Monaco GP

Scot David Coulthard topped the times in the final practice session for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix but the session was overshadowed by a heavy crash for Briton Jenson Button.

Scot David Coulthard topped the times in the final practice session for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix but the session was overshadowed by a heavy crash for Briton Jenson Button.

Button lost control of his BAR-Honda on the exit of the tunnel and was taken to hospital after he crashed into the barriers opposite the entry to the chicane and the session was stopped while the accident was cleared.

Once it restarted, Coulthard claimed McLaren-Mercedes' second top time of the day after Finnish teammate Kimi Raikkonen topped the first session earlier in the day.

Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya was second in the Williams-BMW, 0.351 seconds behind Coulthard's time of 1:14.747, and his teammate Ralf Schumacher was fourth behind Ferrari's World Champion Michael Schumacher.

Jarno Trulli finished fifth in the lead Renault as his teammate Fernando Alonso finished down in 14th place after crashing out at the exit of the swimming pool in the earlier practice session.

Finn Raikkonen ended the session in sixth place, with Brazilian Rubens Barrichello seventh in the second Ferrari and Australian Mark Webber eighth in the Jaguar.

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, of Jordan, and Canadian Jacques Villeneuve, of BAR-Honda, completed the tip ten but the latter was two seconds off the pace after crashing coming out of the swimming pool.
