Saturday Second Free Practice - Malaysian GP

McLaren pair Kimi Raikkonen and David Coulthard maintained the team's impressive start to the season as they headed the times after the final practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang.

Finn Raikkonen replaced teammate Coulthard at the top of the times midway through the second session to finish on top with a lap time of 1:36.557, two-tenths quicker than the Scot, who went wide and into the gravel in the closing stages.

Spaniard Fernando Alonso ended the session third for Renault, with World Champion Michael Schumacher fourth quickest despite spending the majority of the two timed sessions in the pits.

Schumacher spun into the gravel in the opening session and emerged from the pits well into the second session after work was performed on his Ferrari, before completing a total of 15 laps.

Rookie Cristiano da Matta set the fifth best time overall, ahead of Renault's Jarno Trulli, Williams-BMW driver Juan Pablo Montoya and BAR-Honda's Jenson Button.

Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello, who lost time in the first session as the team worked on his car, ended a disappointing ninth overall with Ralf Schumacher, of Williams-BMW, completing the top ten.

Toyota driver Olivier Panis's session ended early following an engine blow as he ended 12th overall, while Minardi's Justin Wilson, who finished at the bottom of the times, lost time because of problems with his car.

Sauber pair Heinz Harald Frentzen and Nick Heidfeld, impressive in Friday's qualifying session, struggled as they could only set the 13th and 16th best times respectively, with BAR-Honda's Jacques Villeneuve 18th.
