Rubens guns for Michael

Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello has laughed off suggestions that his team-mate Michael Schumacher can win all 18 Formula 1 races this year

Speaking ahead of this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, Barrichello feels he can beat Schumacher, despite the German's incredibly dominant start to the season. He can break the record of successive season-opening race wins in Monte Carlo on Sunday.

"The pressure is all on him because the media are already talking about," he said of Schumacher's winning streak. "But, seriously, I don't think it's possible [to win all 18 races]. Michael has been very strong this season so far and it is good to see him so motivated. Personally, I am proud to drive alongside him, but I don't fear him.

"I regard every race as the start of the season, so I just keep on working and I am sure wins will come my way. I had a very good feeling with the car in Barcelona and since then I have had productive tests at Mugello and Fiorano."

Barrichello will celebrate his 32nd birthday on Sunday, and would like to mark it with his first grand prix victory of the season.

"The older you get the less you celebrate," he quipped. "Hopefully, and thinking on the positive side, it would be nice to be able to celebrate winning the race."
