Renault determined to win again soon

The French car manufacturer could have grabbed another podium finish in Japan last weekend but Robert Kubica was forced to retire from second place in the early stages of the race when his right rear wheel fell off.

Although Kubica's form on a demanding aero circuit like Suzuka is a huge boost to Renault, Boullier says that the outfit is still eager to do much more over the winter - as it tries to secure the finances that will allow it to keep up an aggressive development push.

"We are a competitor and we will never be happy until we win," Boullier told AUTOSPORT about Renault's progress. "But we have clearly made a good step forward if you look at the global figure.

"It was a big effort from the team as well to achieve this. We now need to make sure that the team resources are capable to do the same - so we can move and build on what we have achieved, which is already a part of the success. We now need to go to the end of the project."

With Boullier heading into his first winter in charge of the team, and Kubica now well bedded in, Renault has a good chance of making further progress in 2011.

"We are definitely looking forward to keep building on what we have achieved," he said. "We found some keys to improve and do well, and the team itself made clearly some good steps in this year.

"So now we need to make sure that during the winter we achieve another step, which allows us to fight for more podiums next year and even for wins."
