WRC Canary Islands: Solberg closes gap to leader Ogier as rain hits

Kimi Raikkonen: "We made a good pitstop and got out more or less in front of everybody else. I was side-by-side with Kubica when suddenly somebody hit me. There was a red light, but I guess some people chose not to stop. It's a shame, a mistake from him, but there's nothing I can change about it."

Q: What did you think of what Hamilton did?

Raikkonen: "I'm maybe not the best person to say because in the last race I made a mistake. But this is two completely different stories, you can lose control at 300kph on a circuit and hit someone, or go along on the pitlane speed limiter and don't watch in front of you. That's a bit silly."

Q: Was this a missed opportunity for you?

Raikkonen: "We had a good car and we were in third place. We had a bit of a problem with the left-front tyre which was beginning to grain, but we were very fast when it started to work and easily caught up the others. When the safety car came, we were more or less at the front."

Q: Hamilton admitted he did not see the red light, do you think he'll apologise?

Raikkonen: "I'm not angry about it. He knows that there is a red light, and he should have been told by the team. It's a shame. There were two cars side-by-side and we were stopped, so..."

Q: What do you think about Robert Kubica leading the championship?

Raikkonen: "We've seen that they've been fast all year, more or less there all the time. Now they finish one and two, when things go wrong with the guys at the front, it gives them a nice lead. I think with our car we should be able to win races and come back. It's still early in the season, and we're not in the strongest position right now, but we just need to start winning races again."

Q: How was the track?

Raikkonen: "It wasn't too bad. It was breaking up, but they fixed it as well as they could, and it was better than yesterday."

Q: How significant a threat are BMW to you in the championship now?

Raikkonen: "They are scoring points all the time. Nobody can count them out. Kubica is five points ahead of Lewis and Massa and seven ahead of me."
