Q & A with Adrian Campos

Q. How are preparations going for the new team?

Adrian Campos: Everything is going like we originally decided. Sometimes there are difficult moments because you have to start from zero to develop everything. But, at the moment, everything is okay, and we are going ahead in our programme like we expected. We will be in the first race, for sure.

Q. There were difficult times for your investors when the budget cap was removed from F1, but they have now given their full commitment. Is the worst now behind you?

AC: At the end, we decided to go ahead. We are comfortable in our situation, and we have to work, work, work - and more work to be there at the first race.

Q. How are things progressing with staff recruitment and the car design?

AC: Everything is going like we expected. Of course, it is not easy. As everyone knows we are working very hard and thanks to the president of the company, (Jose Ramon) Carabante, who is doing a very, very good job in the financial matters. Thanks to him, we are alive and we are progressing well.

Q. And happy with Cosworth?

AC: I am sure that they will do a very good job. From the information that we have, they are doing a very good job and to be with them is now guaranteed.

Q. Is it correct that you are now members of FOTA?

AC: Yes, that is true. We went to the meeting today here. We asked for entry and they accepted.

Q. What is the situation regarding drivers for next year? When will you make an announcement?

AC: We want to have the drivers decided as soon as possible, but not before the middle of November.

Q. So that will be after the season?

AC: Yes, because we have many things to do. We have to put together the sponsors, the interest and the nationalities of the drivers. There are many things that we expect - to have the entry and then quickly sign the drivers. But it is not easy because the nationalities of the drivers are very important regarding the repercussions in every country - for the sponsors and many things. There are many things that we have to take care of.

Q. Is there a requirement to have a Spanish driver?

AC: No. But we would like to have one Spanish driver.

Q. So is Pedro de la Rosa still favourite for a race seat?

AC: He is our first choice. So it will be him or Marc Gene, but we have to wait and see what happens in the next two or three weeks about the drivers.

Q. And when will your new car run for the first time?

AC: For the first time? If I had to be honest, it will be the end of January. That will be good for us.
