Pollock's future in doubt
BAR chief Craig Pollock's position is reported to be under threat
The team has not performed well in its first season of Formula One, and has failed to score any points so far.
Pollock is also said to be at odds with some of the management of British American Tobacco - the marque's title sponsor and chief shareholder.
But Pollock denies any problems. 'I am not aware of any tensions within the team,' he said.
'The atmosphere is getting better and better. This is talk within the paddock, not within the team.
'If I did not make the business work, and turn the performance around, then I could understand why people would say I should resign.
'If things are not working, the first guy to offer his resignation should be the man at the top.
'But things are a lot better than people say. We'll get there.'
Pollock is said to be in danger of being ousted from his position by operations director Rick Gorne.
Adrian Reynard, Gorne's long-time partner and boss of racing car manufacturer Reynard, would also be expected to increase his involvement with the team if Pollock went.
Reynard has been criticised by BAR number one driver Jacques Villeneuve.
The former world champion accused him of not spending enough time on his job as technical director with the team. He then took on the role of vice-chairman.
Villeneuve has also stated he will go if Pollock does.
'If Craig leaves, I go with him,' said the French-Canadian.
