Points at every race is on, says Salo

Mika Salo's expectations for Toyota's maiden Formula 1 season have been raised following the team's form in Australia and Malaysia - and now the Finn is aiming to score points in every race

The team and drivers were at pains to play down their chances this year before the start of the season. But following Salo's sixth place in Australia and his team-mate Allan McNish coming close to repeating the result in Malaysia, Toyota could be set to become the surprise of the season.

When asked if he will race for points at every round from now, Salo told Autosport.com: "Yes, of course that's what we have to do, because we are quick enough for that. Everybody else's reliability will get better and everybody else will get faster but we just need to do double steps, which I'm sure we can do now."

Salo is confident of the team's chances at the third race of the season in Brazil next week. "I'm expecting quite a lot from Brazil, because it's not as high a downforce circuit as this one, so we should be better there."
