Pizzonia ready for F1 challenge

Jaguar Racing's rookie recruit Antonio Pizzonia says he is ready for the step up to Formula 1 this year

Speaking at AUTOSPORT International today (Sunday), the former British Formula 3 champion says he can't wait for the opening round of the season, but admits he might struggle on tracks he does not know.

"Getting to F1 is a dream come true," he said. "At the moment nothing feels that different, I still feel like a test driver - but I'm sure I'll feel different in Melbourne. The only difference has been a lot of PR work, which is very tiring."

When asked about the circuits he hasn't raced on before, Pizzonia replied: "I don't know Melbourne, Malaysia, Canada or Suzuka - so I'm sure I'll struggle a little bit on these tracks."

Pizzonia says his relationship with new team-mate Mark Webber is going well so far.

"Mark is a nice guy and it's important we work together and help build up the team," he said. "There are no team orders at Jaguar - well, not yet anyway!"
