Pedro de la Rosa Q&A
It's been a tough start to the season for Jaguar, but the recent test at Barcelona did at least remove one unknown from the equation. The new R3 had been so poor that there was a strong move in the camp to go back to last year's car, but the test proved that the grass is not always greener, and so it's full steam ahead with the latest model. The wind tunnel is about to come on stream and with new aero people joining there's now a base on which to build. Adam Cooper spoke to Pedro de la Rosa in Brazil
"It showed that both cars were the same. We're talking about less than a tenth here, and you can swing it one way or the other. So this is fact: both cars are slow. We just had to decide for the R3 and work, or we could spend half a year doing back-to-backs. It was a very good test, very well done, and the decision is made. Now we have to push 100 per cent for the R3."
"At least we have it now, and they've done all the calibration work this month. I don't know exactly when it starts, but we need it now, really. All the new people that are coming will help us. I think we can only improve, really. All these factors are positive. There's no way we can go any slower."
