Pedro bounces back
Arrows driver Pedro de la Rosa sat out the majority of the morning practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix. However, he stormed back to score fifth fastest time in the afternoon session despite the valuable track time lost in the morning
The gearbox failure that led to his Arrows-Supertec being sidelined earlier, did not impose itself in the afternoon, and Pedro found himself ahead of all but the pace-setting McLaren and Ferrari cars.
"We had to play catch up after the morning's problems but I am pleased
with the time because I am still getting used to the track," said de la
Rosa.
The Spaniard's team mate Jos Verstappen was seventh, underlining the potential of the Arrows team this season.
Team boss Tom Walkinshaw was circumspect, but quietly confident about the team's chances. "We have to be optimistic about our chances but it is early days," he said.
"Both drivers made the most of the session and considering the state of
their tyres and the fuel loads they set good times."
