Paul di Resta not worried about 2014 Formula 1 seat chances

The Scot is confident that if he focuses on his own driving and continues to deliver the kind of performances he produced in Japan and India, he will be in a good position.

"No, I don't think I'm worried about it," he said when asked by AUTOSPORT if he was concerned about the possibility of not having a seat in 2014.

"At the end of the day, I've had some remarkable results this year.

"Unfortunately, it's a difficult time at the moment but the management team, it's their job to be out there selling you and pushing your forward."

Di Resta had looked certain to stay on at Force India earlier in the year, but there are now question marks over the Silverstone-based squad's line-up.

Both Nico Hulkenberg and Pastor Maldonado have emerged as contenders for seats, while di Resta's team-mate Adrian Sutil has also had a good season on his return to F1.

"The whole midfield is quite uncertain at the moment," said di Resta.

"The team is giving good feedback and they said they would have a board meeting in India and come back in good time.

"That was always the way it was going to be, nothing was going to change that.

"I'll concentrate on doing my job, they know what I can do."

Team principal Vijay Mallya suggested in an interview with the official F1 website this week that an announcement on its driver line-up will not be made until December.

But di Resta is hopeful that a decision will be made before then.

"I would certainly like to think there is going to be a decision before December," said di Resta.

"It's not for me to comment on. The team will do it when they want to do it."
