Paddy Power: Don't back Michael!

Four wins from the first five races has left Michael Schumacher virtually unbackable, unless you're the sort who finds building society rates exciting

Odds of just 2-1 on a Michael/Rubens 1-2 in Austria tells you just how the bookies see Ferrari superiority at the moment. You can't even take a punt on the Styrian weather throwing up an upset because Bridgestone has the better rain tyre, and guess who's on them.

But, some time, some place, Michael is not going to finish a race. Hockenheim last July was his most recent mechanical failure! Bearing that in mind, think about Barrichello at 9-2 but, better still, try a forecast bet with Barrichello first and either Williams driver second. Whether you choose Schumacher Jr or Montoya, the odds are the same, a highly attractive 33-1!

Remember too, that Austria has unpredictable weather. So think Bridgestone and think Frentzen and Fisichella. Both are quoted at 6-1 to score points which, considering Frentzen did it last time out in the dry, has to be worth a punt. Jordan's unreliability record would suggest that the German could be a better bet. If you want to go the whole hog, the same two are offered at 25-1 for a finish on the podium.

Or, what about Olivier Panis, also on Bridgestones, at 10-1! The Honda is not currently renowned for its power and BAR is without a point, but Olivier would have scored last time out but for a broken exhaust.

On a straight value:performance level, Felipe Massa at 4-1 for points is also worth a look.
