No pressure to win, says Hamilton

Briton Lewis Hamilton says there will be no pressure on him to start winning races in his first Formula One season in 2007

The 21-year-old will make his Grand Prix debut with the McLaren team next year as Fernando Alonso's teammate following his championship-winning season in the GP2 series.

And although he has won every championship he has taken part in, Hamilton says he will not be expected to win in his maiden F1 season.

"There is no pressure on me to win. The pressure will come from myself to succeed," Hamilton said. "The pressure comes with the sport. It's part of the environment and I will get used to it.

"This is the pinnacle of motor sport. If you could go into it and straight to the top everybody would be able to do it. I am still 21 so there is a long way to go and need to take it step-by-step.

"The team know I am young and it will take some time for me to get up to speed and learn. I am young, fresh and extremely determined to do well in this sport. I want to win.

"We will be both pushing hard to achieve great success for ourselves and the team."
