Mosley: Formula 1 did not suffer

FIA president Max Mosley does not think that Formula 1 suffered when Ferrari ordered the Schumacher/Barrichello turn around on the last lap of the Austrian Grand Prix

Mosley said: "I don't think it damaged the image of Formula 1 but it may have damaged the image of Ferrari in the short term. But soon it will be 'Forza Ferrari' again."

As far as the enormous public reaction against Ferrari's tactics was concerned, Mosley said: "It was actually a tremendous endorsement of Formula 1. You wouldn't have got that sort of reaction from a motocross event in wherever.

"I actually think it's made the season more interesting. It's got people talking and I think that the Monaco audience will be higher."

Mosley refused to comment on what action the FIA World Council might take when Ferrari is called before it on June 26, but the most likely course of action is that the team will face sanction for disregarding podium protocol, which caused embarrassment to the Austrian chancellor. Some pundits are predicting that the team could even lose some constructors' championship points.
