Montoya: I won't change
Despite two incidents with Michael Schumacher in as many races, Juan Pablo Montoya says that he will not change his approach to racing.
"What happened in Brazil doesn't change anything," said Montoya, who denied that he may have been caught out by Schumacher braking earlier through having a heavier car commensurate with an unexpected one-stop strategy.
"There was no braking involved in it," Montoya claimed. "As far as I'm aware we were still 150m from the corner, so it was more that I moved and he moved into me. I got into the draft, moved and then he moved after me but he should have looked to see where I was before he moved. I thought he had made his one move down the straight and I guess I thought I could go down the inside. But the stewards saw it as a racing incident and so I guess you can do that."
Montoya denied, however, that he would necessarily adopt similar tactics in future. "I gave him room at the first three corners and if that's what he wanted to do, it doesn't say that's what I want to do. You don't have to race the same way. I'm sticking to my point of view. It was a racing incident and we'll see what happens from here on in. I'm not going to change. I'm not worried. If it happens, it happens. That's racing and that's what I'm here for."
Schumacher also stuck to his post-Brazil line. "I think what happened was that we got very close and he lost his nose. And that's it," was all that the champion would offer. "But we both want to finish the race and whatever happens could make us more clever for the next race."
