Minardi confirms line-up for 'the Rock'

The European Minardi Formula 1 team has confirmed the drivers who will take part in its 'Thunder at the Rock' event at Rockingham on August 30/31

Its current F1 line-up of Jos Verstappen and Nicolas Kiesa will be joined by test driver Gianmaria Bruni, IRL IndyCar Series race winner Bryan Herta, Formula 3000 star Giorgio Pantano and American Le Mans Series Panoz driver David Saelens. Team boss Paul Stoddart will also make his customary appearance behind the wheel, as Minardi's current F1 machinery and two-seaters take to the track for demonstration runs.

"Thunder at the Rock is undoubtedly going to be the best yet, and everyone at Trust and European Minardi is looking forward to meeting as many of the fans as possible during the weekend," said Stoddart. "Minardi's Thunder events have always been a chance for the team to give something back to the sport in which it competes, while allowing the people who really matter - the fans - the opportunity to get closer than normal to the cars and drivers they support."

The event will also be enlivened by a performance by stadium rock act The Darkness. A round of the ASCAR stock car series also features.
