Massa to drive 2007 Ferrari again

Felipe Massa is to get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 Ferrari again at Mugello in the coming days

The Brazilian will drive a 2007 car provided by Ferrari's Corse Clienti Department and fitted with 'demonstration run' tyres.

Massa said he had asked his team if another test would be possible while attending Christmas festivities in Maranello - during which he had dressed up as Father Christmas, along with test drivers Luca Badoer and Marc Gene, to give presents to Ferrari employees' families.

"I wanted to jump into a Formula 1 car before the end of the year, so I made the most of being in Maranello to do it," he said. "I would like to thank Ferrari for having given me this present."

Having recovered from the head injuries he sustained at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Massa first got back behind the wheel of an F1 Ferrari when he tested an F2007 on GP2 tyres at Fiorano in early October.

He then drove this year's F60 for some demonstration laps at the Ferrari World Finals event at Valencia last month.

Ferrari said that a definite date for the next test had not yet been set as the weather forecast for Mugello in the coming days was variable. It ruled out the run taking place tomorrow.
