Massa says Ferrari cannot relax
Felipe Massa says his Ferrari team cannot relax despite taking their second consecutive one-two finish at the Spanish Grand Prix
The Italian squad have now moved into the lead of the standings ahead of BMW Sauber after Kimi Raikkonen led Massa to a commanding one-two in Barcelona.
Today's was Ferrari's third consecutive victory of the season.
Despite that, Massa reckons the team cannot rest on their laurels, seeing both McLaren and BMW were close behind.
"For sure we are in the first race of our engine and everything, but looking at what we did in the test the car looks more in the right direction now," said Massa, fourth in the standings.
"We are improving but our competitors were close in the race as well. We need to pay attention race-by-race in the factory to improve the car in every area."
Massa made a flying start in the race, overtaking Renault's Fernando Alonso, but the Brazilian reckons the damage was done yesterday, when he was unable to put a perfect lap together and had to settle for third.
"It was a good start. For sure as you mentioned before qualifying was very important for this race. I had one lap less than Kimi and just couldn't put my lap together.
"I started third and made a very good start and could pass Fernando and that is it. I had a little moment with the safety car. I saw that Lewis was a bit longer than me and maybe that was a bit of a scare for us, but I could build a gap in the second stint in a very good way.
"We did our homework and brought two Ferraris in front first and second and that is very important for the championship."
