Mansell tips Montoya as future champ

Former Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell has voiced his support for BMW Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya

The Briton won the championship for the Williams team in 1992, and believes that both of the teams current drivers, Montoya and Ralf Schumacher, could follow in his footsteps.

"Juan Pablo has an excellent feeling for the job," said Mansell. "I'm pretty certain he's going to be world champion one day. The only question to be asked is: will he make it before Ralf Schumacher?"

Mansell feels that Montoya is a driver from the same mould as him, adding: "Montoya is a guy the way I like them, a real racer. In the cockpit he is always a live wire and he never gives in."

Meanwhile, Ralf Schumacher has set himself the goal of winning the title next year, saying: "It is my target to win the world championship title or else I would be a bad racer. It remains to be seen in the first races of the season whether this target is realistic."
