Klien determined to get back to racing
Christian Klien says he is still determined to return to racing in Formula One despite starting his second season as a test driver
Klien, who last raced in F1 in 2006 with the Red Bull team, was Honda's tester last year and joined the BMW Sauber team as reserve and test driver for this season.
He says, however, that his goal is still to return to grand prix racing.
"I am very clear about my determination to race, in F1, again," said Klien. "To achieve this, my move into a top manufacturer team as test and reserve driver is an excellent opportunity - I would say the very best opportunity other than racing for the BMW Sauber F1 Team.
"So I am going to make the most of this chance to work with their program.
"My focus is to give maximum support to the team both inside and out of the car. Testing is very limited these days, but that means every session is critical when developing the chassis and I will be using my experience fully in this respect."
Klien insists BMW's goal for 2008 will be scoring their first win, but he reckons the task will not be easy.
He added: "The team was the third strongest in 2007 and finished second in the world championship for constructors last season and fifth and sixth in the drivers series, so I think the team has already shown its ability to compete at the front.
"The next step is going to be a difficult one - we want to win the first race in 2008.
"The competition between the top four teams will be as tough as ever this year, and I expect BMW to be the focal point of what promises to be another exciting year for all of the F1 fans around the world."
