JPM furious over Schu contact

BMW WilliamsF1 star Juan Pablo Montoya has furiously criticised San Marino Grand Prix winner Michael Schumacher after the two drivers made contact again, this time at Imola's Tosa hairpin, as the Colombian tried to pass the Ferrari for second place on the first lap of the San Marino Grand Prix

Montoya got a good run on Schumacher out of the second chicane and moved to pass the Ferrari on the outside of the hairpin. Schumacher kept to his line and JPM found himself on the grass as the pair exited the corner.

On the slowing down lap after the race, Montoya jesticulated his dissatisfaction to Schumacher while the German celebrated, then launched a verbal attack on the world champion's driving tactics in the post-race press conference.

"It's very disappointing to see racing like that but I will be surprised if he gets away with it," said Montoya. "But you know, that's up to the FIA really.

"Michael had a poor start. He was slow out of the first chicane, I went to pass and he closed the door on me and I had to back off. Then he did the same out of the next corner and closed the door. So I went for the inside coming out [of the second chicane] beside him. The next thing I see, he's coming straight at me, hits me, and puts me straight on the grass.

"There was no damage, but he hit me hard enough to put me on the grass. It was a bit disappointing. I thought I could have had him there."

Schumacher, didn't allude to the contact but commented: "It was very slippery on my side and I was fighting with Juan. It was a bit difficult to keep him behind me. Obviously I wanted to avoid him getting by because I knew I was going to get faster once the first couple of laps got going."
