Jordan puts money on Frentzen

Eddie Jordan has warned that Heinz-Harald Frentzen will not be easily pushed aside in the battle for the world championship

'Heinz-Harald is only 10 points behind so I have to put him in as a contender,' said Jordan Frentzen's incredible run of seven successive finishes in the top four - including two wins.

'He is going to be hard to shove aside because when he finishes he does so in the points.

'Right now I would have my money on Frentzen before I would put it on Hakkinen.

'The McLarens have the speed but either the team or the driver has screwed up on too many occasions.

'There is a litany of failure and they should have won the championship by 50 points and it should be all over by now.

'But now they have another contender in the shape if Heinz-Harald, which nobody expected.

'Ron is a great competitor. I admire the guy and I think his team is sensational but if I had a team as good as that and I had not won the championship by now then I would be sick.

'They have opened the door for Irvine who did not have a chance here and as I have always said - you should never write Irvine off.'
