Team principal Eddie Jordan expressed his delight after his drivers were promoted to point-scoring positions at today's Canadian Grand Prix.
Williams and Toyota were disqualified from the race after technical checks on their cars' brake ducts, which meant that Germany's Timo Glock picked up two points for Jordan on his race debut as a stand-in for Italian Giorgio Pantano while teammate Nick Heidfeld moved up to eighth.
"It's good news for everybody in the team to have their hard work rewarded with points," said Jordan. "Timo joins an elite group of people who have scored points in their very first race, and a long line of them have been Jordan drivers at some stage in their careers. It's unbelievable history."
Glock, Jordan's test driver, was also delighted with the news.
"What an unbelievable development," said Glock. "I can't explain how it feels to find out I scored two points in my first ever F1 race. Perfect. It's great for the team, they have been doing a really good job."
