Jordan Confident of 'Buoyant' Future

Eddie Jordan said today that he is committed Formula One and looking forward to a "buoyant" future after seeing the sport develop huge sponsorship interest following a calendar shake-up.

Bahrain and China will both host Grands Prix next year with Turkey set to join them in 2005 after claiming to have secured a long-term deal to run a race in Istanbul. And Jordan believes the sport is set to go from strength to strength.

"I have never seen such competition for races, with Turkey, Bahrain and China," Jordan told Atlas F1. "I have not seen in the last three years as much interest in terms of global and domestic sponsors.

"Things have never been as vibrant and of all the sports Formula One has managed to keep ahead of the game. It is still tough but business is truly buoyant right now."

Jordan, who has been through a difficult season this year, revealed that he is on the verge of signing a deal with a "major and hyper interesting" new sponsor that could be announced before the end of the season.

And the effervescent team boss, who is determined to fight his way out of the team's current difficulties, confirmed he still has an interest in signing up with a major manufacturer.
