Irvine: 'We've still got work to do'

Eddie Irvine followed team leader Michael Schumacher home to give Ferrari

their first Monaco 1-2 and then said the bubble could burst at the nextrace.

'This is a very specific circuit, we didn't really make a lot of progress
in car development for here. Lack of straight line speed does not cost you
so much here but if you look at McLaren they still have a huge straight
line speed advantage over us.'

'It's just that we didn't pay the price here. Barcelona is a different
circuit. At the same time we have things to do before we get there to make
our car better.'

Second place keeps him second in the championship with 18 points, eight
behind Schumacher and four ahead of Hakkinen.

'What you saw in Monaco is exactly what Michael and I have been saying; we
have a really well balanced car. All we need to do is work on the
aerodynamics to make sure we are more competitive at the faster circuits,'
he said.

'For the first 20 laps my car was doing strange things and wobbling as if
the tyre pressures were wrong but as the fuel load went down the car got
better and better and I was able to attack Mika and pass him in the
pitstops.

'My one mistake came at the chicane but that is the one place you can make
a mistake and get away with it.'

'Obviously it helps Michael that Mika lost two extra points with me in the
middle of them and in the constructors it is a big bonus.
