Heidfeld unruffled by attention to Kubica
Nick Heidfeld says he is not getting frustrated at seeing teammate Robert Kubica grab the attention following his impressive arrival in Formula One
Kubica, who will continue with the BMW-Sauber team next season, has been singled out as one of the most 'exciting' talents coming through the sport.
The Polish driver's performances have overshadowed Heidfeld's efforts on the track - just as was the case when the German went up against Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa at Sauber in previous seasons.
When asked by autosport.com if he was annoyed that Kubica was getting all the attention, even though he has outqualified and outscored him, Heidfeld said he was not fussed at all.
"No, because I am sort of used to it," explained Heidfeld. "Whenever a newcomer arrives and does a good job, it is always what happens.
"I had the same with Kimi and to a degree also with Felipe, so it is OK. If people think he is a really good driver and I beat him, then that only puts me in a good light. What else can I do?"
Heidfeld said that he was actually looking forward to continue working with Kubica next season.
"We get on well this year," he added. "Obviously he is very quick, I get on with him very well, and it is not a surprise I get on with him really well.
"I think, as we have seen this year, we had a couple of races where we were close together, and I guess that is how it will be next season as well."
