Head slams Ralf's testing approach

Williams-BMW's technical director Patrick Head has criticised Ralf Schumacher in the German press by saying he doesn't work as hard in testing as his team mate Juan Pablo Montoya

"At tests, he hasn't got much patience to check through data with the engineers, to study the next day's programme or to discuss things he doesn't like in the car," Head told German magazine Auto Motor und Sport. "Juan does all that and thus has a better understanding for the car."

Head's comments come in the wake of an interview with Schumacher in which he claimed Montoya was the team's favourite.

"I don't know exactly why but Frank Williams and Montoya are closer. Frank loves Juan," said Ralf. "But that hasn't detracted from the atmosphere on the team. Montoya was new last season. Perhaps that is why he is enjoying more attention."

Schumacher is known to have angered team boss Frank Williams by suggesting he should employ team orders next season, to prevent the team from splitting its efforts in two.

"The rivalry between me and Juan hasn't yet resulted in a collision," added Schumacher. "We have the same goal in front of us. We want to bring the team forward."
