Grapevine: Renault partner Race Of Champions

Formula One World Champions Renault have announced a partnership with the 2005 Race of Champions - Nations' Cup

The deal means that, for the first in the history of the Race of Champions, a Formula One car will be in action on track at the Stade de France.

"We are proud to be a partner to The Race of Champions 2005," said Renault F1 team president Patrick Faure.

"After the Renault F1 Team's World Championship victories and the popular success of the Megane Trophy races during the World Series by Renault, it will be an excellent way to finish the year: it will offer a good show to the public, to Renault's employees and the dealer network, who are associated to the event.

"And don't forget that the current Champion of Champions, Heikki Kovalainen, is a member of the Renault family through our Renault Driver Development programme."

The event, which sees several drivers from all sort of motorsports series racing against each other, takes place on December 3rd.
