Grapevine: Mystery Surrounds Arrows's GP Participation

Mystery surrounds whether Arrows will compete in this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix after it was claimed the team's fleet of trucks has been recalled to Leafield.

Mystery surrounds whether Arrows will compete in this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix after it was claimed the team's fleet of trucks has been recalled to Leafield.

A team spokesperson confirmed to Atlas F1 on Monday that the trucks had left the factory at Leafield and were heading to Budapest for Sunday's Grand Prix.

But reports have claimed that the trucks were ordered to turn around and head back to Britain after reaching Germany. To make matters worse team members back in Leafield are unavailable to comment on the situation.

Arrows are in talks with three potential investors in a bid to keep the team on the grid and it is claimed the debt-ridden team will not compete in Hungary in order to save the $1.6 million (Dollars) payment needed by engine suppliers Cosworth before Wednesday.

If Arrows do miss Hungary they could face sanctions from Formula One's governing body, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

Former BAR team principal Craig Pollock has tabled a second offer for the team and said he is "80 per cent certain" of a deal being completed (see report), while Red Bull are also interested in making an investment.
