Grapevine: Jordan to take part in TV series

Former team boss Eddie Jordan will take part in a television series being currently recorded by a British network

Jordan, who left Formula One after selling his team to Midland last year, will be the presenter in the six-part documentary about criminal youth.

The Irishman said he was delighted to be involved in the project.

"Since I quit F1 I rested on my laurels a bit, but now I'm fully busy again and am shooting this six-part series, the first of which will be aired on September 1st," he told SportAutoMoto.

"It's a big production which faces the problem of criminal youth, by looking at 16- to 19-year-old youngsters.

"We will see young people who have had problems with justice in real life and have already learned what life in prison is like. They all come from difficult environments and, for the most cases, they didn't have a father on their side.

"My role is to establish a contact, to try to understand them and to help them find new solutions, by aiding them in their way back into society. I'll aim to motivate them, hoping to help them creating a better future which they certainly deserve.

"It's something I've been intending to do for a few years. It's a project I care about but which I never had the time to realize. After selling Jordan Grand Prix, this has been the first thing I wanted to realize. After F1, I wanted to be involved in something with a strong human factor. It's my way to give back what good life has given me.

"To this day I've had a happy and lucky existance, and I think it's my duty to help whoever can't say as much and whoever hasn't had the same opportunities I've had. After many years in the paddock, I felt the need to plunge into a normal situation."
