Grapevine: Hamilton to join DTM race show

Lewis Hamilton will give his home fans another chance to cheer him on next month when he demonstrates his McLaren car at the Brands Hatch DTM event

Fresh from his victory in the British Grand Prix, Hamilton has confirmed that he will show off his car at Brands Hatch on August 31 - when DTM makes it annual visit to Britain.

"I am really looking forward to visiting a DTM race again," said Hamilton, who used to race at DTM events during his time in the F3 Euro Series.

"I also have fond memories of the time when I competed in the Formula 3 Euro Series, which is run as a supporting event to the DTM races.

"I really like the atmosphere of the DTM and the great racing which this series is famous for. I very much enjoyed my 2005 season when I became the Formula 3 Euro Series Champion and when the Mercedes-Benz DTM team celebrated my title win in Zandvoort together with me."

Brands Hatch chief Jonathan Palmer added: "We're obviously delighted that Lewis will be joining us at Brands Hatch for the DTM event in August.

"It's going to be a fantastic weekend, and I'm really excited that we're able to offer British fans a chance to see Lewis in action in this year's Vodafone McLaren Mercedes."
