Grapevine: Coulthard to demo Red Bull in Colombia

David Coulthard will drive a Formula 1 car in a demonstration run for Red Bull on the streets of Bogota next Saturday

The Scot is set to drive in the heart of Colombia's capital, starting from the city's emblematic Plaza de Bolivar, right beside the President's Casa de Narino. He will take the car along the Seventh Avenue in a 1.2km stretch ending at 18th Street.

Bogota, located 2650 meters above sea-level, will become the highest place Coulthard has ever driven an F1 car.

"I've never driven a Formula 1 car at a height like Bogota, and although we will have less engine power by having less oxygen in the air, I'm sure we will give a great show to the public," he said.

Despite his many visits to South America, where he competed in the Argentinean and Brazilian Grands Prix, it will be the first time the former Williams, McLaren and Red Bull driver has been to Colombia, homeland of former F1 rival Juan Pablo Montoya.

Coulthard's run will be an early wake up call for the people of Bogota, as it is scheduled to start before 7am.
