Frentzen dominates warm-up sessions

Jordan's Heinz-Harald Frentzen continued to dominate this morning's Formula One warm-up sessions at Monza

The German fought off Mika Hakkinen to take top spot in the second of today's two sessions.

Finn Mika Hakkinen took first position with a 1.23.556 12 minutes before the end of the session.

However, Frentzen came back with just five minutes left and put in a 1.23.353. He then went faster with a 1.23.142.

Hakkinen's team-mate David Coulthard also managed to get ahead of him. The Scot put in a 1.23.412 late in the session, which placed him second fastest.

Alex Zanardi and Jarno Trulli continued their strong form from the first session, coming fourth and fifth respectively.

Rubens Barrichello managed to improve on 12th in the first session, with a 1.23.837, which placed him sixth.

Eddie Irvine did not improve on his seventh place from this morning's earlier session, instead he dropped down to 12th with a 1.24.330, and is certainly struggling.

Frentzen looks certain to challenge the McLarens for qualifying, which starts at 12.00 BST.
