Fisichella Targets Points Finish

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is aiming to score points at tomorrow's Spanish Grand Prix after qualifying in 11th position today.

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella is aiming to score points at tomorrow's Spanish Grand Prix after qualifying in 11th position today.

"I am pretty pleased with the way things went today, because we achieved our target," said the Sauber driver after qualifying.

"We have a good race strategy with some good possibilities, and we know that the tyre performance is consistent, so if things go our way I believe that I can score some points."

Aided by a very low fuel load Fisichella had set an impressive second fastest time in opening qualifying. His teammate Felipe Massa had been third, a feat the young Brazilian was unable to repeat in the final session.

Massa, who wound up 17th, admitted he had made a driving error during his flying lap.

"I made a mistake in Turn Seven, and lost everything there," said Massa. "It was my fault completely. Without that it would have been a good lap, at least four-tenths faster. I'm not so happy with myself, but I know that I have a good car for the race, and that the tyres are pretty consistent, and I will be pushing very hard tomorrow."
