Fisichella pleased to be on the podium

Giancarlo Fisichella finished third as a tyre change gamble in the rain paid off in Montreal

The little Italian finished on the podium here for the fourth consecutive year as he took the last place on the podium behind Ferrari duo Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.

"This is a great result for me and the team. Montreal has always been kind to me and it was again today," he said.

"Our strategy was to do one stop and I started with the maximum fuel load. At the beginning it was difficult to compete because the car was so heavy but I played it safe.

"Then it started to rain so I radioed to pit for wets. One lap later we stopped and it proved to be just the right moment because the rain then got worse.

"I had one 'off' because I had a low downforce set-up and that made the car very difficult to drive.

"Its a great feeling to finish there on the podium again."

He now has 18 points in the championship, 10 behind Rubens Barrichello
fourth.
